Running TALWEG, FLUVIA and SIRENE from the command line

The SIC executables can be launched from the command line with various options that allow automating the launch of a simulation.

The launch syntax for TALWEG, FLUVIA and SIRENE is as follows:

PROGRAM.EXE [XML file name] [Interface mode] [Fluvia and Sirene options]

All the command line arguments are optional; if the XML file name is not specified, it will be requested from the user through the standard Windows® dialog box.

Meaning of the arguments:

[XML file name]

Name of the XML file to open. If the path is not specified, the current path is used by default.

[Interface mode]

This is the type of display and interaction with the user during the execution of the program. The different modes are the following:

  • 0: No interface on screen (reads all options from the command line)
  • 1: No interface (executes the instructions of the macro file PROGRAM.MAC)
  • 2: Normal interfaces
  • 3: Normal interfaces + writing of the inputs to PROGRAM.MAC (macro recording)
  • 4: Normal interfaces except calculation monitoring (obsolete in version 5)
  • 5: Normal interfaces except file opening (gets file name from PROJECT.INI)
  • 6: No interface at all (i.e. same as 1 without the small window)

In the absence of a corresponding second argument in the command line, mode 2 is used.

[Fluvia and Sirene options]

The various available options are written in the form OPTION=VALUE separated by spaces. The different possible options are: - INTERF=n : interface mode n (see above). Default INTERF=2. - SCE=n : launch the hydraulic simulation on hydraulic scenario n. This parameter is mandatory. - VAR=n : launch the simulation on variant n. By default, the simulation is launched on the scenario data (VAR=0). - REG=n : launch the simulation with regulation module n. By default, the regulation module selected in EdiSic is used. - TFIN=x : set the end time of the simulation to x seconds. - DT=x : set the time step of the simulation to x seconds. - MODRES=n : set the format for writing the results: -** MODRES=0 (default) : keeps the writing format defined in the scenario parameters -** MODRES=1 : forces the writing of the results in binary format -** MODRES=2 : forces the writing of the results in the project XML file

Usage example

To launch SIRENE with the following options: - File C:/DOC/DEMO.XML - Scenario 2 - Variant 1 - Regulation module 1 - No interface on screen at all

The command line will be the following:

SIRENE.EXE C:/DOC/DEMO.XML INTERF=0 SCE=2 VAR=1 REG=1

or also

SIRENE.EXE C:/DOC/DEMO.XML 0 SCE=2 VAR=1 REG=1
