The ALGEQUEAU module was first developed by Jean-Pierre Baume, Gilles Belaud, David Dorchies and Ophélie Fovet for her PhD Thesis and as a part of the ALGEQUEAU project funded by the French National Research Agency (ANR) for the 2007-2010 period. This module simulates a quality model for irrigation networks regarding :

  • temperature ;
  • algal nutrients ;
  • attached algae ;
  • drifting algae ;
  • bed sediment ;
  • transported sediment.

One aim of the thesis was notably to simulate the transport of drift algae resulting from the detachment of attached algae following a hydraulic flushing.
