Modification of network structure

Inserting a node : splitting a reach

A reach can be split into two reaches by selecting it or a section in it with a right-click. In the contextual menu that appears, choose "Split reach."

The "Split a Reach" window then allows the user to choose on which section the new node should be created and the names of the new node and the new reach. The node thus created inherits the geolocation of the section, if it exists. The newly created reach appears at the bottom of the tree display (left column), but will be correctly classified the next time the network is saved, or the geometry mode display is refreshed.

Deleting a node : merging two reaches

A node can be deleted by right clicking it and choosing "Merge Reaches" in the contextual menu.

Converting extrapolated sections into data sections

For a better display of calculated data, it can be preferable to add sections. This can be done by converting some interpolated sections generated by TALWEG into data sections where results can be displayed.

In geometry mode, this feature is available via Tools > Conversion of interpolated sections in data sections.
