A hydraulic calculation in steady flow (Fluvia) is initialized by initial flow in each reach estimated from the boundary conditions (see Sorting mesh reaches to calculate steady - initially Solution). These flows should be positive in all reaches. The software therefore provides a control of the initial flow rates from the network boundary conditions and a display of flow rates upstream and downstream for each reach.

This check is performed automatically during a consistency test.

Displaying the initial flow verification window can be done:

• From the network coherence window if there was actually a discharge error on a reach by double clicking on the error.
• In the Tools menu > Initial discharges

Initial discharges are also displayed directly on the network graph to the upstream and downstream nodes and on mouse-over the reaches.
